Google Maps URLs are used only when you click a route button. On mobile browsers, Google supports up to three intermediate waypoints, so longer thrift days are split into route parts.
How to plan a thrift shopping route
A good thrift trip is usually better when the stores are different from one another. A nonprofit store can give you volume and practical household finds, while an independent vintage or consignment shop can make it faster to search for a particular style. The planner mixes store types by default so you are not simply visiting several versions of the same shop.
Two hours is usually enough for about three focused stops. A half day gives you more room to browse five stores, take a coffee break and change plans if one shop is a miss. A full day can support a longer list, but opening hours, parking and travel time matter more as the route grows.
Why the route is a suggestion
We are gradually adding verified coordinates to the directory, but we do not want to invent precise map data for stores we have not checked. The planner can still use a store's verified address, and Google Maps calculates navigation after you click the route button. As coordinate coverage grows, the suggested on-site ordering will become more geographically informed too.
Make the trip your own
Use the planner as a starting point, not a rulebook. If a store page looks especially interesting, swap it into your day. If you are hunting furniture or electronics, call ahead when the trip depends on a specific service or category. For vintage and clothing, remember that inventory can change between breakfast and lunch.
